About Edinburgh South Gyle

Our South Gyle Datacentre has 30 telecommunications carriers, making it one of the most connected datacentres outside the M25. With 75,000 square feet of space and on-site security operating 24/7, we have all the necessary facilities to safely store and house your systems and data. Here are more reasons to choose our South Gyle Datacentre:

  • Carrier neutral connectivity - as a carrier neutral datacentre, our multi-carrier connectivity provides network and service independence – delivering complete choice, control and resilience.
  • Low risk for loss of power – incoming power is by two independent 11kV supplies. Power is distributed effectively via private HV package substations. These are backed up by N+1 generators and N+1 UPS systems which are remotely monitored. There are 8 generators in total.
  • High standards of environmental control – all environmental controls in our datacentres are managed and monitored through our Trend Building Management System (BMS). This system aggregates feeds from all building systems and covers power status, cooling, humidity, fire, security and alarm systems. All BMS monitored systems have threshold-based alerting and all historic data is retained for capacity management and trend analysis. As well as the BMS, individual unit monitoring is implemented to ensure specific contractual SLAs are delivered. We comply within the ASHRAE A1 recommended range of:
    • Temperature control – 23°C +/- 2°C - to comply with ASHRAE A1 recommended range
    • Humidity control – 50% +/- 20% - to comply with ASHRAE A1 recommended range

  • Multi-level security – unauthorised access to the site is prevented by strict access policies as well as by 24 x 7 on-site security and operational staff. The complex is monitored by external and internal HD CCTV. All areas are zone controlled via a security card system allowing access only to designated colocation areas. The whole site is alarmed for external penetration and via the site’s Building Management System for all external doors and gated areas. There is a swipe and pin on the datacentre’s main entry door and two further layers of access controls before gaining access to the data halls.
  • Peace of mind with our onsite backup and disaster recovery

About Edinburgh Medway

  • Power is distributed effectively via an on-site substation and is backed up by an on-site generator with around the clock refuelling.

About Newbridge

Newbridge Datacentre is a short distance outside of Edinburgh and has seven data halls, offering over 6000 square feet. With 24/7 security and high levels of redundancy, our Newbridge Datacentre is the ideal host for your server and systems. Here are more reasons to choose Newbridge:

  • Ultra-fast connectivity - our multi-carrier connectivity provides network and service independence as well as ultra-fast connectivity with low latency to locations in London.
  • Low risk for loss of power – incoming power is by an 11kV supply connected to a transformer with dual plant rooms, switchboards and uninterruptible power supply systems. These are backed up by N+1 generators which are remotely monitored.
